We Need Rituals

Morning rituals remind us of pasts that no longer exist, the present that we feel now, and the future we hope to build.

The truth is I’ve been tracking my food intake. It started a couple of weeks ago when I felt shitty.

I stood there for a minute or so wondering what had happened. The closer I looked, the more I saw.

The list of dentists that both accept my ACA dental and were taking new patients is a Ven diagram with minimal overlap.

Little reminders of the places I’ve been.

I still have to double-check which ocean is on which side of the country.

Either I’m the last of the industry-crushing, avocado toast lovers or the first of the Tik Tok dancers.
